Khato Civil's boss under fake news attack.
The management of Khato Civils would like to refutes false the media allegations from desperate people regarding the arrest of its Executive Chairman, Mr. Simbi Phiri.
It has come to our attention that paid DPP operatives in Malawi are peddling lies
that our Chairman, Mr. Simbi Phiri has been arrested in South Africa. These
allegations are totally untrue, malicious and intended to bring into disrepute
the good character of Mr. Simbi Phiri and Khato Civils.

the good character of Mr. Simbi Phiri and Khato Civils.
The CEO for KHATO Mr Mongezi Mnyani said that an arrest of a man of Mr. Phiri’s stature would obviously be carried by South Africa’s main stream and International media and in any case, such was the case, the information would be public and would be independently verifiable through the South African court systems. I want to put on record that Mr. Phiri
has not been arrested nor has he ever been questioned by any law enforcement agencies here in South Africa.

We are convinced that the fabrications are emanating from unprofessional
conduct by some rogue elements within Malawi who are hell bent on tarnishing our good image and reputation of Mr. Simbi Phiri. Such statements that are directed to Khato Civils and Mr. Phiri are misleading and devoid of the truth and once more shows that there are individuals who have ulterior-motive s to scandalize and bring Khato Civils name into disrepute.

It’s a known fact that there are key leading politicians and officials within Malawi who for some reason don’t like Khato Civils and they will do everything possible to discredit us.
We urge the owners of the media houses to immediately remove such malicious allegations from their media platforms, failing which we will take legal action against these institutions and individuals. We therefore urge the public to look at this false and malicious story for what it is.

Malawi-Mozambique:64 Ethiopian immigrants died of asphyxiation in a container
The truck that transported the immigrants, by illegal signal, was intercepted by the Police of the Republic of Mozambique, at about 2 am this Tuesday, at the Police Station of the Bascula de Mussacama.
The driver, when approached, said he was transporting goods, an answer that did not convince the police who asked for the container to be opened. The driver obeyed and the result was tragedy. Of the 78 immigrants, only 14 were still alive.
The driver who was immediately arrested tried to be surprised by the number of people he was carrying in the container. "In exchange for thirty thousand meticais, I was asked to transport 25 people to Moatize," said the driver, who was allegedly approached by a guide for illegal immigrants, hired in Malawi, by a person yet to be found out.
At this moment teams from the police, the National Criminal Investigation Service, migration and health are screening and later they will have to move the bodies to the city of Tete, given the lack of capacity of Morgue de Tete. The sad part of it all is that out authorities are aware of this kind of human trafficking but money has overpowered them.
